Victoria and Dakota chose a stunning location for their elopement in Jackson Hole: Wedding Tree! It's nestled just outside of Jackson, within the Bridger Teton National Forest. This spot offers breathtaking natural beauty and scenic views without the crowds typical of Grand Teton National Park. Their day was a perfect blend of relaxed celebration, heartfelt emotion, and romantic moments, all captured during the enchanting golden hour. Despite wildfire smoke lingering in the area that week, the sunset cleared just enough to bathe their couples portraits in a warm, orange glow, creating an even more unforgettable evening!
Wedding Tree is a bit of a hidden gem for couples seeking a peaceful and scenic wedding ceremony location in Jackson Hole. Unlike the busier Grand Teton National Park, this location offers a little more privacy and a connection to nature that feels personal and undisturbed. The towering trees, open meadows, and distant mountain peaks of the Grand Tetons create a natural frame that enhances every moment. Victoria and Dakota wanted a day that felt authentic and intimate. They appreciated how Wedding Tree allowed them to focus on each other without distractions. The natural surroundings provided a calming atmosphere that helped set the tone for their ceremony and photos.
The couple’s special day began with a private first look. This quiet moment allowed Victoria and Dakota to see each other for the first time in their wedding attire, away from the eyes of guests. It was a chance to share their feelings and calm any nerves before the ceremony. This is something that has grown more popular over the last few years with our couples and it's something we even encourage now. The timeless moments we capture when couples set aside this time are priceless. It's also an opportunity to share how you feel without the added pressure of everyone watching. Victoria and Dakota took this time to do just that, expressing what was on their hearts and shedding a few happy tears in the meantime. As wedding and elopements photographers, we live for these little moments. Their ceremony later that evening was simple but powerful. Surrounded by close family and friends, Victoria and Dakota exchanged vows under the warm glow of the setting sun, shaded only by the trees Wedding Tree is named after. The relaxed pace of the day let them savor every second, making the experience feel genuine and heartfelt for everyone present. Afterwards they took some time to celebrate with their friends & family before rocking some sunset photos!
Golden hour is a photographer’s dream, especially in a place like Jackson Hole. The soft, warm light enhances colors and textures, creating romantic and flattering images. For Victoria and Dakota, the timing was perfect. The wildfire smoke that had been drifting through the area earlier in the week began to clear just as the sun was setting.
This clearing allowed the sky to glow with a rich orange hue, adding a magical quality to their photos. The smoky atmosphere diffused the light, softening shadows and giving the images a dreamy feel. This natural effect highlighted the couple’s emotions and the beauty of their surroundings. It was a awesome evening for everyone, especially this lovely couple and one that we are so grateful to have been a part of!
