Russ and Susan’s elopement in Grand Teton National Park was everything we love about what we do. For this intimate celebration, they chose Cathedral Group Turnout as their setting. This spot is perfect for wedding portraits in the Grand Tetons, especially if you’re planning a smaller elopement that qualifies for a dispersed site ceremony (fewer than 12 people, including vendors). Full transparency: this is actually one of our absolute favorite views of the Tetons from this perspective. With the more jagged appearance from this angle, the mountains tend to remind you of the Dolomites. To make things even better, the lighting was perfect for these sweet souls! But all of that paled in comparison to the connection between Susan and Russ. From the moment we met these two in the parking lot, it was obvious how smitten they were with each other. Russ was a gentleman through and through, and Susan carried herself with confident beauty and grace. They were incredibly cute together! I vividly remember exchanging smiles during the ceremony while we shot their wedding, just watching them interact candidly as if they had the whole place to themselves. From sweet little hand kisses during their vows to the way they lit up when they spoke about each other, Russ and Susan shared an energy and passion reminiscent of a much younger couple, but without all the awkward teenage angst. This was definitely one of the more moving elopements we’ve been blessed to be a part of here in Jackson Hole. We are privileged to meet so many couples from all over the country, but Susan and Russ will always hold a special place in our hearts for a long time to come. We hope you enjoy!
